Three fun years at Leeds University at the start of the 70’s making lifelong friendships – thank you Steve - ‘studying’ maths led to a first job at Leeds Permanent Building Society.

Four years later, moved to London to a liaison adviser role in the Stock Exchange. Natural next move into Investment Banking and developed an interest in how people and organisations deal with change.

Short excursion into commercial insurance then the big move into setting up own business – Anagram – in 1999.

Since then, worked with many wonderful clients helping them implement change both personally and within their companies. Anagram ran its natural course, and the project was completed in 2019.

I think I can sum up my approach to working life in three simple statements:

  • Coaching – Ask smart questions; listen intently; don’t tell them anything
  • Mentoring – Ask smart questions; listen for a while; tell them what to do
  • Management Consulting – Ask smart questions; take no notice of their answers; do it for them

If I had a motto for work (and life in general!) it would be something like

“Be Busy and Be Useful”
