Wild Strawberries

When I was casually watching an episode of ‘The Repair Shop’ on TV a couple of years ago, I realised how important it was to preserve cherished memories of loved ones who have passed away.

Often it is an object or a picture which provides a trigger to happy memories of that person.

It prompted me to think of my father, Stan, who died in 1981 and the legacy of poems he wrote and left for all to read.

These were previously published in five separate booklets, original copies of which have depleted over the years.

I thought it might be a fitting tribute to him to re-publish these works in 2021 in one volume "Wild Strawberries" as a strictly-not-for-sale limited edition presented to family and friends.

Then in 2023 one of my close friends, Paul Pullen, suggested setting some of the poems to music and we recorded a disc "Wild Strawberries Newly Preserved" which I believe added a new dimension to Stan‘s work.
